After Shaquille Leonard‘s latest setback, the Indianapolis Colts will place him on the shelf.
A source informed of Leonard’s situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport that Leonard would be placed on injured reserve.
He is likely to be out for at least four weeks, if not longer. Rapoport noted that Leonard’s injury will determine the length of his absence.
After offseason back surgery, the stud linebacker missed the first three games of the season. He then suffered a concussion in his first week back.
Leonard has played a limited role in the past two weeks, including 54 percent of snaps in Week 9.
On Wednesday, Leonard suffered a setback on his surgically repaired back, forcing him to miss Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Depending on how Indy’s season plays out, Leonard may miss the rest of the season in order to be fully healthy in time for his return in 2023.
