In Fantasy Football, What Does Floor Mean?

Posted on October 6, 2022 by NFL11 Team

In fantasy football, the floor is the lowest level at which a player may play. In other words, a player’s floor is their least likely fantasy output.

Fantasy football’s opposite term is ceiling, which refers to a player’s highest expected fantasy output.

Fantasy football floors can show the risk associated with selecting a player.

A player’s floor is not likely to be their actual fantasy output. Instead, it gives you a sense of what their season will be like if things don’t go as planned.

High And Low Floor

A fantasy football floor is often accompanied by the words high or low.

Players’ lowest fantasy output is called their high floor or low floor.

Players with a low floor have a reasonable chance of having a very poor fantasy football season.

Players with a low floor and high ceiling are usually boom or bust players who may not make your starting lineup.

If a late-round rookie pick dominates a training camp, the number of targets he receives is unclear since he has not yet solidified a role on the team.

Therefore, a low-scoring fantasy season is certainly possible. This will be taken into consideration when determining the player’s floor.

The value of a player lies somewhere between their ceiling and floor. Players who have a lower floor will have a lower ADP and ECR.

On the other hand, a high floor is a player whose lowest expected fantasy output is quite good. These players usually produce regardless of the circumstances.

For example, a dominant running back on a run-first team would be an example of a player with a high floor.

In some run-heavy teams, the running back is always fed, regardless of the score.

It is extremely helpful to have the team’s top running back in your fantasy lineup if he is consistently getting touches.

As a result, high floor fantasy football players will be valuable.

Fantasy Football Floors And Ceilings

Fantasy football often refers to floors and ceilings when talking about floors.

It is common to use these two terms together in order to describe the consistency of a player.

There is a ceiling and a floor in fantasy football. The ceiling represents the player’s optimal performance and the floor represents the player’s lowest performance.

A high floor low ceiling player is someone who consistently produces fantasy points.

They aren’t enough to win you your matchup, but they play a role in your lineup if you play them consistently.

This type of player usually has a low floor and a high ceiling. Deep ball receivers and running backs with breakaway speed usually fit this description.
