JAGUARS
Despite not needing an infusion of talent, Jaguars DC Mike Caldwell acknowledges they need to be more sound in their assignments.
“I think the talent is here,” Caldwell said, via Jags Wire. “We like the players here. We just need to get them to understand that doing things the right way means doing them over and over and over again.” There are times when we are right on point. We all own that part of coaching, and we have to get those guys playing the way they need to play.”
TEXANS
After the Texans lost to the Cleveland Browns, DB coach Joe Danna praised rookie S Jalen Pitre for his big performance.
TexansWire.com quoted Danna as saying, “I cannot emphasize enough how hard he works at his game, how well he studies the game, and how well he takes care of himself. We try to coach everybody the same way. He does a lot of work on that. It is good to see that some of that work has paid off.”
TITANS
The Titans offensive line coach Keith Carter still wants to see OT Dennis Daley start for the team and to give OL Dillon Radunz another chance to play tackle.
Although I know Dennis struggled at times in that game, I don’t think we can blame him for the entire outcome. It is not so obvious that we should throw in the next man and go that route to me as a team. We have to play better, we have to help each other, and consistency has to begin with all of us.
“I think Dillon has proved in the last however many weeks that he’s gotten better inside,” Carter said of Radunz. According to me, he has improved inside, and I think it has been evident. I do not know what the future holds, but I think he has done exceptionally well by moving inside and getting reps.”
“We just have to get him to play lower,” Carter said. He has to be able to play well with his pad level. His pad level has improved in the last couple of weeks, but he continues to work on it on a daily basis. In addition to bullrushing and stuff like that, he sits down well and does a nice job, so we’ll keep working on pad level.”
