If the first two weeks of the 2022 NFL season are any indication, fans are in for a wild ride. The last Sunday alone saw three teams pull off seemingly impossible comebacks.
It is also evident from a look at the NFL standings that things can change rapidly. In addition to the Bills, Chiefs, and Buccaneers, the Giants, Dolphins, and Eagles are also 2-0. However, five teams are currently 0-2 in the AFC, including the Bengals, Titans, and Raiders, which made the playoffs last year. Is there anything fans can look forward to in Week 3?
“Thursday Night Football” kicks off the season with an intriguing divisional clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. It was a tough loss for both teams, especially for the Browns, who lost a 13-point lead to the Jets with less than two minutes left at home.
On Sunday, the Jets host the winless Bengals at home. As well as Las Vegas and Tennessee, the four divisional matchups in the 1 p.m. ET window include Buffalo and Miami in the AFC East.
The late afternoon lineup includes another Aaron Rodgers-Tom Brady showdown, which could have major ramifications in the future. Additionally, the Jaguars will travel to Los Angeles to face the Chargers, while Kyler Murray and the Cardinals will face the Rams after winning in overtime last week.
This Sunday, San Francisco plays in Denver, so Jimmy Garoppolo and Russell Wilson will go head-to-head once again. Trey Lance will miss the rest of the season after fractured his ankle this past Sunday. As Week 3 wraps up, the New York Giants will renew their divisional rivalry with Dallas on “Monday Night Football.” After beating Cincinnati at home, the Cowboys have temporarily silenced some doubters, and the Giants are looking to prove they are not just a fluke after a 2-0 start.
