As a result of a season-ending injury suffered in the primetime match, Carolina’s defense is not celebrating its win on Thursday night.
The team announced Friday that Donte Jackson suffered a torn Achilles in Week 10.
Carolina’s 27-year-old cornerback played 84 percent of its defensive snaps against Atlanta. As a defensive back, he recorded 35 tackles, two interceptions, three passes defended, and his first defensive touchdown of the season after nine games played.
Jackson’s season was cut short by an injury for the second time in 2022. A groin injury limited him to 12 games last year.
After initially testing the free-agent market, Jackson signed a new three-year, $35.1 million deal with Carolina in March. He’s part of a secondary that also features C.J. Henderson and Jaycee Horn, who will now take over for Jackson.
