According to Connor Hughes, Jets HC Robert Saleh announced after Sunday’s loss to the Bills that QB Mike White will start against the Lions in Week 15.
During Sunday’s game, White took several big hits and was later transported to a local hospital for rib tests.
If he keeps building on his success, White could finish out the season as the Jets‘ starter.
The 27-year-old was drafted by the Cowboys in the fifth round in 2018. He signed a four-year, $2.7 million contract with Dallas in 2018, but was waived after the preseason.
Soon after, White was signed by the Jets’ practice squad and has been on and off their roster ever since. He re-signed with the Jets this past offseason as a restricted free agent.
In 2023, he will become an unrestricted free agent.
During Sunday’s game against the Bills, White completed 61.4 percent of his passes for 268 yards and zero touchdowns.
